I made this cake for my cousin's daughter's 1st birthday in Mackay. Needless to say there were a few hiccups along the way. Apart from the stress of transporting the farm animals I had made in advance, I then had to figure out how to soften the animals to fit around a "round cake". For some unknown reason they had set hard even though I used fondant. The only thing I could think of was to place them on a cake rack and steam them which wasn't terribly successful. But in the end it all came together and with a few leg repairs that had fallen off during the flight the cake was completed and totally delicious.
